We believe that a story can be found in a single image. Composition and light can show incredible perspective and elicit dynamic emotions. But sometimes, the power of documentary photography is strongest in a series.
We are thrilled to announce a new category for the next awards cycle: The Photo Series.
This addition allows us to celebrate photographers who want to tell larger stories, show growth and change in their subjects, or simply provide a broader perspective on a topic.
What To Submit
Each submission can include up to 8 images that represent a visually cohesive series. You can also submit up to 3 series at a time.
We aren’t putting limitations on the timeframe in which the series was photographed and the timeline and order does not have to be linear. For example, photos can be from a day in the life, a birth, or perhaps from multiple families and subjects over a longer period of time. You can explore a specific theme or present your personal perspective of this genre. These are just examples and we want to encourage creativity in not only the images, but the concept itself.
