6th Place Award in the “Pandemic” category (Spring 2021). Photo by Vaggelis Kousioras (Greece).
Vaggelis Kousioras is a 42 years old photographer who lives and works in Larisa, Greece. He offers professional services including baptism, wedding, documentary, travel, portrait and food photography.
Most of the times people are his subject and if it's necessary he communicates with body language. He respects them as they allow him to capture small moments of their lives.
He is a self-taught learning everything through many hours of walking and shooting. Communication, the ability of being ”invisible”, using of the right body language, patience, persistence, politeness, speed, imagination and the ability of seeing the image in his mind before pressing the button are some of the qualifications he uses.
Vaggelis shares photos with the people he photographs.. He feels lucky because these are "exhibited" at the rarest places. There are prints on the walls of poor Romas' houses in Tyrnavos, central Greece. There are prints on the walls in houses and tavernas in Pomakohoria, North Greece. A 20x30 sized photo on a wall in Saint Nikanoros monastery, central Greece. There are photos in Istanbul, Bursa and Ayvalik. Maby standing next to a bed or on a table. There is a photo in Switzerland, maby inside a desk in a girl's room. In Bulgaria. In England. In France. In Germany...
