I am a creative. However, for most of my adult life, I’ve been a creative of numbers. I crafted sales stories out of data and market research. I longed to be doing something “more artistic”, but had no idea or ambition to learn how. It wasn’t until my children were born that I decided photography needed to enter my life in a meaningful and purposeful way. And once I learned documentary family photography existed – that one could make art from the scenes of everyday life - I knew that was the calling I was missing. All of those years of storytelling with numbers taught me I really was a creative – I just had not found the right outlet.
