As a documentary photographer, identity is the theme in my work: who we are within our relationships, how our identities are expressed in what we choose to do, and how we express ourselves. I am especially drawn to questions about identity changing—who we become as we grow and how our familial experiences affect us.
As an award-winning photographer in the wedding and family photography fields, I recognize how the images I make help me to make sense of my own childhood, and how oftentimes seemingly insignificant moments impacted who I became as an adult. I strive to share this recognition in my professional work, and focus specifically on teen identity in my personal work.
