I'm a late bloomer. After nearly 20 years as a graphic designer and more than a year of soul searching (aka midlife crisis) it dawned on me that being a photographer is where I needed to be.
The camera, as a storytelling medium, has been a constant in my life. Whether it was film, point-and-shoot, smartphone, or a DSLR, you could always find me stopped on the side of the road to catch great light or getting sneaky pictures of my kids doing every day, yet interesting, activities.
A few years ago I made the very scary decision to move forward and focus entirely on photography. After the first year, and almost 40,000 practice images, I don't know why I waited so long! My family would say I'm a bit obsessed with stories and light and I would have to agree.
